Viking of the Week: Ray Porter, ’26
Central Catholic is proud to honor Ray Porter, ’26, as our very first Viking of the Week!
Ray exemplifies the qualities of leadership, service, faith, and character, setting a standard of excellence for his classmates and our entire community.
Ray’s leadership is grounded in humility and joy. He leads not by seeking attention, but by consistently being a positive role model for his peers. Whether in the classroom, performing with the Jazz Band, or serving in our My Brother’s Keeper program, Ray shows others what it looks like to lead with integrity and compassion. His confident yet approachable presence makes him someone others look up to and enjoy being around.
Ray’s commitment to service is evident in the many ways he gives back to the Central Catholic community. He volunteers as a Big Brother through the My Brother’s Keeper program, providing encouragement and guidance to younger students. He also stepped forward to read at the first Class Mass for the Class of 2026, lending his voice in service to our school’s faith life. Through these efforts, Ray has shown a genuine dedication to uplifting those around him.
Most importantly, Ray lives out his faith and character in everyday ways. Whether it is mentoring younger students or simply greeting classmates with a smile, he embodies the Lasallian values of faith, humility, and service. His actions reflect a young man striving to live with integrity and joy, inspiring his classmates to do the same.
One faculty member summed it up best, saying: “Ray is confident, humble, open, charitable, and joyful. He brings out the best in others simply by the way he carries himself.”
Central Catholic is blessed to count Ray among our students, and we are proud to celebrate him as the very first Viking of the Week. His leadership, service, and faith-filled character are a model for us all.
