Viking of the Week: Jordan Ray, ’27
Jordan Ray ’27 is the kind of student whose presence immediately makes a room feel more welcoming. Quick to say hello and ask how someone is doing, Jordan brings an easy warmth and positivity to every interaction. His smile is often the first thing people notice, and his upbeat personality has a way of lifting the mood around him. Whether it’s a spontaneous burst of song that gets classmates laughing or simply a kind greeting in the hallway, Jordan brings a genuine joy to the school day.
In the classroom, Jordan is an engaged and thoughtful student who takes his learning seriously. Even as a freshman, he was an active participant in discussions and never hesitated to ask clarifying questions when something was unclear. That willingness to speak up not only helps him learn, but often benefits his classmates who might be wondering the same thing. Teachers appreciate his insightful comments, his curiosity, and the positive energy he brings to every class.
Jordan’s dedication extends well beyond the classroom. A talented multi-sport athlete, he is often seen putting in extra work to stay in shape—pushing weight plates or sprinting up the parking lot ramp with the football team. He approaches athletics with the same discipline and work ethic he brings to his academics, rarely missing a deadline and consistently striving to do his best.
At the same time, Jordan is also an accomplished musician and a valued member of the Chamber Singers. Balancing music, athletics, and strong academic performance is no small task, but Jordan handles it with maturity and confidence. Teachers describe him as one of the most well-rounded students they have had the pleasure of teaching.
Jordan’s leadership and ability to connect with others were on full display during Accepted Families Night, when he served on a student panel welcoming prospective students and their families. Speaking confidently to a large audience, he answered questions with ease and reassured incoming freshmen about the many opportunities available at Central Catholic. It was a moment that highlighted his maturity, poise, and genuine pride in the school community.
What stands out most about Jordan, however, is the way he treats others. He is respectful, kind, and attentive in his conversations, whether he is speaking with younger students, classmates, or teachers. He never leaves a classroom without thanking the teacher and wishing them a good day—small gestures that reflect the depth of his character.
Kind, driven, faithful, and genuinely interested in learning, Jordan Ray represents the very best of the Central Catholic community. His positivity, work ethic, and leadership make him a wonderful choice for Viking of the Week.
