Viking of the Week: Jackson Landreneau, ’27
Jackson Landreneau ’27 brings a light to the classroom each day, entering with a joyful attitude and an optimistic outlook. No matter the time of year, he consistently works hard to achieve his goals and remains a steady, positive presence among his peers.
Described by his teachers as “intellectually curious, polite, and respectful,” Jackson quietly encourages his classmates to think critically and ask high-level questions. In discussions—whether in English, History, or Religion—his insightful inquiries push conversations to the heart of the issue. He is an active listener who responds to his classmates thoughtfully and respectfully, while also challenging them to look more deeply at a concept and make meaningful connections to their own experiences.
Jackson’s preparation for class demonstrates that he is always ready to learn and engage. He consistently takes advantage of practice opportunities, willingly shares his ideas, and takes academic risks that help him grow. He is also a strong self-advocate, meeting with teachers outside of class to better understand how he can improve, refine his study habits, and deepen his mastery of the material. In doing so, he models for other students what it means to take full ownership of one’s education.
His perseverance and dedication extend beyond academics. As an active member of the Rowing team, Jackson shows tremendous grit and team spirit. Whether he is running nearly three miles to and from the boathouse, waking up early to get on the water, or encouraging his teammates during challenging practices, he exemplifies what it means to be an ideal teammate. Even when things have not gone smoothly, Jackson never gives up, never puts others down, and is always ready to go the extra mile—or offer an encouraging smile—when someone needs it most.
For capturing the heart and spirit of a Central Viking in every situation, we are proud to recognize Jackson Landreneau ’27 as this week’s Viking of the Week.
