Viking of the Week: Colsen Gatten, ’26
Since stepping on campus, Colsen Gatten, ’26, has been the epitome of what it means to be a Central man. Whether he is challenging himself in the classroom, serving in the community, or dominating on the football field, Colsen leads by example in everything he does. His character and work ethic make him a role model for his peers and a shining example for the younger students who look up to him.
Colsen has put the idea of brotherhood into action, showing that while Central students come from all over, when they are at 4720 Fifth Avenue, they are part of one family. He has gone out of his way to welcome and support others, most notably during orientation and the first week of school, when he took the time to meet new freshmen and introduce himself. He consistently puts ego aside, displaying true leadership and mentorship by encouraging others and setting a standard rooted in respect, dedication, and humility.
As one faculty member noted, “Colsen is the kind of student who makes the people around him better. His friendliness, leadership, and commitment to the Central Catholic mission are evident in all that he does.”
Next fall, Colsen will be taking his talents to Duke University, where he will proudly suit up for the Blue Devil defense. In the meantime, we are grateful for all that he has contributed to our community and proud to celebrate him as a Central Catholic Viking.
Congratulations to Colsen on being this week’s Viking of the Week!
