Viking of the Week: Brian Lemon, ’26
As a second-generation Central Catholic Viking, Brian Lemon, ’26, has grown up with an understanding of what it means to be a Central man, and throughout his time here he has consistently risen to the occasion. He is a member of the Br. David S. Baginski Scholars Program and is currently developing and writing his Senior Thesis. The community will get to hear more about it this spring at the Scholar’s Symposium, but even now it reflects his curiosity and his commitment to always striving for more.
Brian’s leadership shines in many areas of school life. He is a key member of both Forensics and Model UN, where he not only pushes himself to improve but also helps his teammates grow. He gives his time and energy to Lasallian Ministry, My Brother’s Keeper, and serves as a Viking Ambassador, showing the same sense of service and dedication in all of those roles.
Faculty describe Brian as “the ideal student.” One teacher who has taught him twice shared how he has become someone others look up to and turn to for guidance, both in academics and in life. Brian holds himself to a high standard, yet he is quick to admit his struggles and works hard to overcome them. He never looks for the easy way out, but instead chooses to face challenges head-on, knowing they will make him stronger. His classmates know that he is always willing to lend a hand and that he will not let them fail if he can help.
That mindset was visible even as a freshman. When an injury cut his basketball season short, Brian refused to let disappointment get in the way of his role as a teammate. He became a source of energy and encouragement on the bench, keeping the books and cheering on his friends. It was a moment that revealed both his resilience and his optimism, traits that continue to define him today.
Brian is inquisitive, hardworking, personable, and grounded in the values of Central Catholic. For his pursuit of knowledge, his leadership among his peers, and the way he lives out the ideals of faith, service, and scholarship, we are proud to recognize Brian Lemon, ’26, as this week’s Viking of the Week.
