Merry Christmas from Central Catholic High School!
December 25, 2025
Dear Central Catholic Community,
As we celebrate the Christmas season, we are reminded of the greatest gift ever given, Jesus Christ, who came into our world in love, humility, and hope. The story of the manger shows us that God’s light can shine even in the simplest places, while calling us to live with faith, generosity, and care for one another.
For nearly one hundred years, Central Catholic High School has sought to form young men in the light of the Gospel, guided by the Catholic, Lasallian tradition and the witness of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. Through prayer, study, and service, our students are called to grow not only in knowledge, but in wisdom, not only in achievement, but in character. It is hard for me to imagine a world without Central Catholic High School and this sacred mission, which has endured due to the steadfast support, prayers, and commitment of our alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends. We are deeply grateful to all of you.
At Christmas, we are especially mindful that we all have gifts from God. We give thanks for the generations who came before us, including those who built, taught, mentored, and sacrificed so that Central Catholic might remain a place where faith is lived, community and brotherhood are nurtured, and young men are formed to serve others. We also give thanks for the current students entrusted to our care who fill our halls with life, and for the faculty and staff who accompany them with dedication and care.
As we look toward the coming year, we do so in a spirit of humility and hope, seeking to be faithful stewards of what has been entrusted to us. Rooted in tradition and guided by prayerful discernment, we continue to prepare our campus and programs to support the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of future generations of Vikings. Above all, we remain committed to ensuring that Central Catholic continues to be a place where young men enter to learn and leave to serve.
During this Christmas season, may the birth of Christ bring peace to our world. May your homes be filled with the joy of His presence, and may the coming year be marked by faith, gratitude, and trust in God’s love.
On behalf of the De La Salle Christian Brothers, our faculty, staff, and students here at Central Catholic High School, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year! We are deeply grateful for your continued support and partnership in our shared mission to form Men of Faith, Scholarship, and Service.
May the peace of Christ be with you always, and may God bless you in the year ahead.
With gratitude and best wishes,
Matthew J. Stoessel, ’95
