Dr. William Hahn,'68

School Psychologist

Dr. William Hahn is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist who is director emeritus of a group private practice.  He currently maintains medical and consulting staff privileges at a number of Pittsburgh hospitals and healthcare facilities. At these hospitals, he has served as section chief, served on the Medical Executive Committee, and on the Credentialing Committee. He has been an Adjunct Graduate School Professor at both Duquesne and Chatham Universities.  He holds accreditations in the areas of psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, neuropsychology, and trauma intervention. He is a past president of the Association of School Psychologists of PA, and also served as the organization’s secretary. He has been a guest editor for the Journal of Suicide and Life Threatening Behaviors. He authored the chapter: Children and Suicide in the text Meeting Childhood Needs.  He served on the Mental Health Crisis Response Teams for the plane crashes in both Hopewell and 9/11 in Shanksville. He currently serves on the Executive Board for the Catholic Medical Association. He has been on the Central Catholic football staff for over 40 years, and volunteers as an assistant track coach at Oakland Catholic. He is an Ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, serving the Parish of St. Jude. Dr. Hahn is a proud graduate of Central Catholic, and comes from a dedicated Central family. His father was in the first graduating class in 1931, his brother graduated in 1968, his nephews in 1996 and 1999, and his son, Bill Jr., in 1998.
