Faith & Service

Students in Mass carrying the cross

Encounter Faith. Encounter Service. Encounter Brotherhood.

Lasallian Mission and Ministry at Central Catholic helps students experience what it truly means to live “together and by association.” Through worship, reflection, and outreach, they encounter God’s presence in their own lives and in the lives of others—deepening their faith while serving the world with humility and love.

KAIROS retreat

Every year, groups of our young men participate in the Kairos retreat, a deeply meaningful four-day experience rooted in faith, reflection, and community.

The word Kairos comes from the Greek term meaning “the Lord’s time,” and it serves as an invitation for participants to pause from their busy lives and encounter God in a personal and transformative way.

Beyond prayer and reflection, the retreat offers opportunities for recreation and fellowship, helping participants strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that define our Central Catholic community.

The Kairos experience continues to serve as a cornerstone of our faith formation program.

Three students, two boys and one girl, are seated at desks in a classroom setting, with a periodic table chart visible on the wall behind them.

My Brother's Keeper

From day one, each freshman is paired up with a peer mentor, known as a “Big Brother,” who can help him navigate Central Catholic academically, socially, and spiritually. Big Brothers are available to provide support and encouragement and help our new students acclimate to life at Central Catholic.

Students at Central Catholic come together as one Brotherhood. The culture of respect is passed down through each grade level.

“Wherever access to education remains a privilege, the church must push open doors and invent new pathways because to ‘lose the poor’ is to lose the very meaning of the school. To educate is an act of hope.”

-Pope Leo XIV

Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve

Like so many young men, our students experience their own unique faith journey, and the Priests, Christian Brothers, faculty, staff, and a strong brotherhood serve as guides along that journey. From campus ministry retreats to liturgies to service opportunities, Central Catholic creates a supportive environment where young men can explore what it means to live with purpose, integrity, and compassion. Our young men learn not only what the Catholic faith teaches, but how to live it authentically in today's world.
