Running for a Reason!

Central Catholic High School students showcased determination, teamwork, and a commitment to a meaningful cause during this past weekend’s marathon events.

A team of five students—Bruce Goodman ’26, Holden Neff ’28, Nate Tunno ’27, John Pensock ’28, and Will Vidic ’27—competed in the marathon relay in support of Breakthrough T1D, a charity dedicated to funding research and advocacy for Type 1 diabetes. Together, they raised more than $4,000 for the organization.

Their performance on the course matched their efforts off it. The team finished 11th out of 276 relay teams, posting an impressive total time of 3:06:50.

In addition to the relay team, several other Central Catholic students participated in individual races over the weekend. Nolan Shroyer ’26 completed the full marathon, while Caleb Snediker ’27, Owen Campfield ’26, Joseph Massaro ’26, Christian Williams ’26, Danny Haller ’26, and Ryan Hower ’26 each took part in the half marathon.

The weekend highlighted not only the athletic dedication of Central Catholic students, but also their commitment to supporting important causes and making a positive impact beyond the classroom.
