A brand-new challenge for 2019! Can you navigate through a maze? Can you destroy an opponent? Can you someday save a life? Students will work with Lego NXT robots to learn how computer programming and code generation relate to robotics and how robotics is used to solve problems every day in the world around us.
Students will receive a hands-on experience of what it is like to write music from both a lyrical and musical standpoint through the tradition of poetry. Students will work with multiple instruments, such as tap pads, guitars and pianos to help craft their own song. We will work to understand all essential elements of songwriting: song structure, lyrical techniques, rhythm and flow. We will also look at a variety of genres and songwriters, and analyze several songs from a composition standpoint. In knowing and learning of these songwriters and genres, students will write, create and record their own song in a genre of their choosing. No experience or musical training is necessary to join!
Using your knowledge of cells and the design process, your medical team will examine one of the 11 human body systems and redesign a specific body part to improve its function! You will be introduced to cells, stem cells and various body systems. Working with others, you will create a prototype to improve an inherently flawed human body part. Will you discover the newest medical advancement to improve the quality of life for a patient with knee pain? Will you discover how to improve spinal function in a patient? Join us and see!
Learn the basics of 3D modeling using Tinker CAD and print your designs on Central Catholic’s Maker Gear printers. Students will be able to create designs using an online platform, print them out, and take them home. Beginners and experts welcome!
