Corporate Giving: EITC & OSTC Programs
Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program
If you own or work for a business that pays Pennsylvania state taxes, the company can earn tax credits by providing tuition assistance for deserving Central Catholic students.
Since 2001, the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program has allowed eligible Pennsylvania businesses to receive tax credits for contributions to approved organizations, like Central Catholic (through the Diocese of Pittsburgh). The program has been instrumental in Central’s mission to provide an affordable Catholic Lasallian education to students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. EITC funds make financial support available to students who might otherwise be unable to attend Central, and it provides participating companies with state tax credits of up to 90% of their contribution to Central.
Pennsylvania’s Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program
The OSTC program also provides tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved organizations, like Central Catholic. The contributions provide tuition assistance in the form of scholarships to eligible students residing within the boundaries of a low-achieving school* to attend another public school outside of their district or nonpublic school. Like the EITC program, the OSTC program supports tuition assistance but it designates the scholarships to students from specific home districts.
