We’re right in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood at 4720 Fifth Avenue—just steps away from institutions of higher learning such as the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.

Many families appreciate that it removes certain social pressures, allowing students to focus on academics and build strong, lasting friendships—what we like to call our “Brotherhood.”

Many local school districts provide busing to Central Catholic. Some offer monthly Pittsburgh Port Authority (PAT) passes instead. If your district doesn’t offer transportation, a private bus option may be available as well.

Dress Code Policies

All incoming freshmen and transfer students receive an iPad to use while enrolled. Our iPad Program is designed to give students the tools they need to thrive as 21st-century learners.

Absolutely! Our Zupancic Family STEM Center is a 30,000-square-foot space with state-of-the-art labs and technology for science, engineering, and innovation.

 Most classes have about 18–22 students, which means teachers really get to know you and can give one-on-one attention.

We have an amazing team of teachers, guidance counselors, and academic support staff who help students stay on track. There’s also tutoring and mentoring available when you need it.

Busy — in the best way! From more than 30 clubs and activities to music, theater, robotics, and leadership programs, there’s something for everyone here.

We’re proud of our Viking athletics! Central offers 19 varsity sports, including football, basketball, soccer, track, swimming, and more. Whether you’re an athlete or a fan, there’s plenty of Viking spirit to go around.

Faith is part of everyday life. Students take religion classes, attend school liturgies, go on retreats, and take part in service projects that help others in the community.
