    The Mission Statement

Central Catholic High School, a college preparatory, Catholic school for boys, is guided by the educational principles of St. John Baptist de La Salle. The school strives to provide a challenging, relevant, and diverse program of studies and extracurricular activities in an environment that fosters a life of faith and learning and develops leaders rooted in the Gospel values of integrity, respect, service, justice, and peace.

    Our Shared Beliefs

    • The Central Catholic High School community affirms that the primary purposes of a Lasallian, Catholic education are the training of the intellect and the formation of the student’s life of faith, within a school community based solidly upon Christian principles and a tradition of excellence.

    • In doing so, we strive to provide each student with realistic challenges according to his potential for intellectual, creative, and spiritual growth. During these formative years we will strive to stimulate his mind, guide his critical thinking, promote his competent self-expression, and develop his faith. We will help the student to make choices likely to provide personal fulfillment beyond high school.

    • A Central Catholic education provides our students with a Gospel-based understanding of our society’s strengths and values as well as its conflicts and failings. We will foster a sense of community that demonstrates respect for each person as a unique individual. We will provide our graduates with the skills necessary to live responsibly within the Church and society, now and in the future.

    The Faculty Creed

    • We, as members of the Faculty of Central Catholic High School, believe that we have been called by God to be ministers of grace for the students entrusted to our care.

    • We believe that God, the source of all life and grace, has given some people the gift to teach, and by using our gift on behalf of young people, the Kingdom of God is being built up.

    • We believe that young people have a God-given right to know the truth and to develop themselves fully as graced human beings. Our direction and guidance are critical factors in our students’ self-realization of their gifts, talents, and potentials.

    • We believe that we have a mission to manifest the person of Jesus Christ through our daily efforts in school.

    • We believe, as educators in the Lasallian tradition, that we are “ambassadors of Christ” sent to the young people confided to our care. Thus, we undertake to do our best for them, inspired by the spirits of faith and zeal, to create a vibrant and challenging learning community here at Central Catholic.

    • We believe that it is our duty to accompany young people on their journey of faith. Our companionship with them calls each of us to deepen our own faith and to be fervent in prayer. We, too, must foster in ourselves and in them a commitment to justice and peace.

    • We believe that we help to form a community spirit at Central Catholic that reflects a profound and loving respect for all persons. In turn, we must encourage our students to respect and appreciate the diversity of persons who make up the fabric of the Central Catholic community.

    • We believe that our work is a trust, shared with our students, their parents, their pastors, and leaders, to create a lively environment of educational excellence, a healthy respect for our unique traditions, a commitment to personal honesty and integrity, and a responsible and encouraging sense of discipline as hallmarks in the formation of good Christian citizens and gentlemen.

    • We believe that our efforts mirror the larger efforts of the Church to be instruments that lead our students and ourselves to the gift of salvation that God intends as the ultimate destination of our life journeys.
