Central Catholic sponsors Varsity and Junior Varsity Golf teams. Typically, there are 8 players on each team. Golf is not a club sport. It is expected that each player is already skilled in the sport and prepared with necessary equipment.

The season begins in mid August and continues through October. During this time the golfer is expected to dedicate his time to his studies and to golf. There are 5 rounds of tryouts. The top six scorers are placed on the varsity team. The coaching staff adds two other players. The top 8 Freshmen and Sophomores are placed on the JV team. All players must pass a rules test on information distributed before tryouts begin. The Golf team has compiled an impressive record, capturing first place in Section 4 numerous times.
