    Headlines:

    Junior College Night 

    On Wednesday, February 1, Mr. Tallerico welcomed over 100 members of the Class of 2013 and/or their parents as they officially began their college search. An introduction and overview to the college search process was given by Mr. David Rush, Product Manager of College Prowler Inc, a Pittsburgh-based college search company that provides both print and online tools for prospective students. Mr. Tallerico also provided a brief overview of the resources that Central Catholic is able to provide for students and their families. There were a number of handouts available at the program as well.

    Financial Aid Night

    On December 13, 2011, Central Catholic hosted its annual Financial Aid Night for Seniors and their parents. Ms. Kim McCurdy from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) spoke about the process of applying for financial aid, finding scholarships, and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

    Senior College Night

    To kick off the new year, the College Counseling Office hosted the annual Senior College Night on Wednesday, August 31. There were three sections to the presentation.

    1. Representatives from Pitt, Penn State, and Robert Morris were available to speak to students and parents about the application process to each of their schools
    2. Parents of previous Central Catholic graduates spoke about their experience going through the college search process, what they learned, and what they wish they had known
    3. Mr. Tallerico gave a brief presentation about what students/parents should be doing now, and the opportunities and programs coming up later in the fall. You can view his presentation here.
