    Freshmen Applications

All 8th grade students applying for 9th grade (Class of 2015) must take the Placement Test at Central Catholic High School on December 11, 2010.  Students will receive the rest of the Application Packet at the conclusion of the Placement Test.  Test registration information will available on this website beginning Oct. 1, 2010.

Taking this test will also qualify students for De La Salle Scholarship consideration.  A limited number of De La Salle Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who have attended a Catholic grade school for at least 3 years, demonstrated high academic achievement, and participated in service to their community or school. The winners will be selected by the Academic Council of CCHS and will be based upon the students’ Placement Test scores, grade school records, and the applicants’ response to a student questionnaire. Winners will be awarded a scholarship worth half-tuition for four years.  This scholarship program has no effect on the traditional Financial Aid awards (see below).

    10th and 11th Grade Applications

Students applying for the tenth or eleventh grade will be evaluated on the basis of their report card, standardized testing, and recommendations from their present principal. An interview may also be required. Students applying for the 10th or 11th grade must have a 75% or higher in all of their academic courses to be considered for admission.

Central Catholic does not accept senior transfers. Students may not transfer into Central Catholic once the school year has started. Transfer Applications are available from February through July.

    Financial Aid Application

Significant tuition assistance based on need is available for students from funds raised by alumni and friends of Central Catholic, the Bishop's Education Fund, and the E.I.T.C. Program. To apply for financial aid families must submit the Private School Aid Service application (available February 1, 2011).  This one application accounts for all funding sources available through Central Catholic and the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Additional aid may be available through other local non-profit organizations including The Crossroads Foundation , Bravo Foundation , The Bridge Educational Foundation , The Poise Foundation , and Junior Achievement of Western PA . For more information on these programs please visit their websites.
