    Getting Started

    Central Catholic High School is an all-boys Catholic High School serving grades 9 through 12. Admission to Central Catholic is achieved through satisfactory test results, records and recommendations.

    The application process begins in the fall of the 8th grade year for those applying for 9th grade. For those seeking to transfer into the 10th or 11th grades the process begins in the spring semester. Central Catholic does not allow mid-year transfers or senior year transfers.

    The admissions process is consists of four major steps: Inquiry, Application, Registration and Course Placement.

     

    Inquiry

    During the Inquiry Phase, you will gather information on Central Catholic. This may include attending our annual Open House event (November 6, 2011) and scheduling a Visitation Day for your son.

    Open House

    Each October or November Central Catholic will hold its annual Open House Event.  No registration is required. The next Open House will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from Noon to 2:30 PM.

    Visiting CCHS

    Student visits will be scheduled throughout the 8th grade year beginning in late-October through April.  Call 412-621-7505 for more information.

     

    Application/Placement Test

    Placement Test

    The first official step the Application Process is taking the Placement Test for incoming freshmen.  All 8th grade students applying for 9th grade MUST take this test  at Central Catholic High School to be considered for a De La Salle ScholarshipTesting for the Class of 2016 was held on Saturday, December 10, 2011.  Additional testing dates may be scheduled in the spring if space in the class is available.   Visit the Application Materials page for more information.

    Financial Aid

    Significant tuition assistance based on need is available for students from funds raised by alumni and friends of Central Catholic, the Bishop's Education Fund, and the E.I.T.C. Program.     Transfer Students

    Students applying for the tenth or eleventh grade will be evaluated on the basis of their report card, standardized testing, and recommendations from their present principal. An interview may also be required. Students applying for the 10th or 11th grade must have a 75% or higher in all of their academic courses to be considered for admission.

    Central Catholic does not accept senior transfers. Students may not transfer into Central Catholic once the school year has started. Transfer Applications are available on this site from February to July.  Visit the Application Materials page  for more information.

     

    Registration

    Decision letters are sent home beginning March 1st.  Accepted students are given the opportunity to Register at this time.  Registration will involve the completion of all Enrollment forms and fees.  Students who apply to CCHS after the this initial period will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served, rolling basis.

    Tuition

    Tuition for the 2011-2012 school year is $8,720 for students who are members of a Catholic parish. Tuition for students who are not members of a Catholic parish is $9,020. Tuition may be paid in ten monthly payments beginning in July.

     

    Course Placement

    The Course Placement process begins in May of the 8th grade year.  The results of the Placement Test and other additional testing may be used during this process.  Course lists and Summer Reading requirements will be mailed home in early June.
