    Getting Started


    Central Catholic High School is an all-boys Catholic High School serving grades 9 through 12. Admission to Central Catholic is achieved through satisfactory test results, records and recommendations.

    The application process begins in the fall of the 8th grade year for those applying for 9th grade. For those seeking to transfer into the 10th or 11th grades the process begins in the spring semester. Central Catholic does not allow mid-year transfers or senior year transfers.
    The admissions process is consists of four major steps: Inquiry, Application, Registration and Course Placement.

    Inquiry

    Open House

    Each October or November Central Catholic will hold its annual Open House Event. No registration is required. The next Open House is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2013 from Noon to 2:30 p.m.

    Visiting CCHS

    The annual Viking for a Day event is scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2013. Online registration for this event will begin on September 1, 2013. 8th grade boys from across the region are invited to experience a day at Central Catholic High School. If you are unable to attend the Viking for a Day event, you may also arrange an individual student visit after November 1st.

    Application

    Placement Test

    The first official step the Application Process for an 8th grade student is registering for the Placement Test which is administered in December of the 8th grade year.  Addional make-up tests will be scheduled in the spring if space permits.  All 8th grade students MUST take this test to be considered for acceptance into the freshman class. By taking this test in December, student may also be considered for a De La Salle Merit Scholarship. Visit the Application Materials page for more information.

    Transfer Students

    Students applying for the tenth or eleventh grade will be evaluated on the basis of their report card, standardized testing, and recommendations from their present principal. An interview may also be required. Students applying for the 10th or 11th grade must have a 75% or higher in all of their academic courses to be considered for admission.

    Central Catholic does not accept senior transfers. Students may not transfer into Central Catholic once the school year has started. Transfer Applications are available on this site from February to July. Visit the Application Materials page for more information.

    Enrollment

    Registration

    Decision letters are sent home in early March. Accepted students are given the opportunity to register for the freshman class at this time. Registration involves the completion of all enrollment forms and fees.

    Students who apply and are accepted to CCHS after the initial enrollment period will be placed on a waiting list to be evaluated on a rolling basis.

    Tuition

    Tuition for the 2013-2014 school year is $9,900. Tuition may be paid in ten monthly payments beginning in July.

    Financial Aid

    Central Catholic High School is committed to keeping our program affordable and accessible to all who desire a faith-based, college preparatory education. Therefore, tuition assistance is available for students from funds raised by alumni and friends of Central Catholic, the Bishop's Education Fund, and the E.I.T.C. Program. Financial aid applications for the upcoming school year are available in January. The aid application for the 2013-2014 school year is now available.     In addition to need-based aid, students who take the Placement Test in December also qualify for De La Salle Merit Scholarship consideration. A limited number of De La Salle Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who belong to a Catholic parish, demonstrated high academic achievement, and participated in service to their community or school. Winners are selected by the Academic Council of CCHS and are based upon the students’ Application for Admission including the Placement Test results. Winners are awarded a scholarship worth half-tuition for four years.

    Course Placement

    The Course Placement process begins in May of the 8th grade year. The results of the Placement Test and other additional testing may be used during this process. Course lists and Summer Reading requirements will be mailed home in early June.
